A short trip to Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park!
Hello, fellow adventurers! If you are like us, you've been craving some excitement and a change of scenery now that 2020 is over. In May we headed to Mike Roess Gold Head Branch state park in Florida! We went in with zero expectations other than what I had read on Google, but wow were we blown away by this place!

Located between Gainesville and Jacksonville, it is one of the earliest state parks in Florida! It is home to some beautiful animals (and some not so beautiful animals), gorgeous greenery, sandhills, marshes, ravines, several lakes, and scrubs.
We camped for one night (it is incredibly difficult to get a longer stay in a Florida State Park right now, because people are flocking to them!) in our Trail Manor pop up camper. We were quite impressed with the clean bathrooms, the hiking trails, and the beautiful trees which offered us some much needed shade.

We cooked over an open fire (no burn bans as of May here in Florida) and enjoyed being so immersed in nature. All in all, we absolutely recommend camping here if you can snag a spot! You can check out our full review on YouTube.
Happy travels, adventurers!
